Bolognese cooked in the slow cooker is an easy way to create a very rich, delicious, high protein meal.
You know how mince dishes always taste better the next day once the mince has had a chance to absorb more of the flavour from the sauce? Well cooking mince in a slow cooker gives you that delicious, rich taste on day one, straight out of the pot.
Bolognese is a classic recipe that is often over-complicated by adding too many ingredients. This is a simple recipe, that just uses the basics to give it a delicious flavour – wine, smoked bacon and tomatoes. As always, if you don’t want to add in the booze, that’s fine, just use more stock although it won’t have the same depth of flavour.
